It's Always Morning Somewhere

I will make You as a light for the nations, that My salvation
may reach to the end of the earth
. . . (Isaiah 49:6b)

Indonesia Morning

PROLOGUE

      Dawn breaks on the horizon
         As darkness fades away.
      We greet the welcome sunrise,
         And lift our voice to pray.
      Acknowledging Your grace, Lord,
         We fill the dawn with praise;
      For all we have comes from Your hand,
         Our life and breath and days.

VERSE

1.   Awake, O Lord, the nations,
         For they belong to You.
      From ev'ry realm and land and isle
         Is praise and honor due.
      So humble hearts and cast down pride,
         And break the bands of fear;
      Give boldness to Your church to speak,
         And life to those who hear.

CHORUS

1.   It's always morning somewhere,
         Your light shines o'er the earth.
      Let light come to the nations
         That all might see Your worth.
      Come magnify Your name, O Lord,
         And where Your truth is heard,
      Awaken hearts to sing Your praise,
         Exalt Your mighty Word.

VERSE

2.   Awake, O Lord, Your people,
         For we belong to You.
      You made us vessels of Your grace;
         Let grace in us shine through.
      Stir up in us a passion, Lord,
         To see Your Kingdom grow,
      That we might spread the light of Christ
         Wherever we may go.

CHORUS

2.   It's always morning somewhere,
         The night turns into day;
      As dawn breaks o'er the nations,
         For light and life we pray.
      Come magnify Your name, O Lord,
         And use us as You will
      As beacons of Your hope and love,
         As lights set on a hill.

BRIDGE

      Lord, lift our eyes
         To see a world in need;
      Unleash our voice
         To beacon and to plead;
      Reach out our hand
         To touch a world undone;
      Reflect the love
         God gave us in His Son.

CHORUS

1.   It's always morning somewhere,
         Your light shines o'er the earth.
      Let light come to the nations
         That all might see Your worth.
      Come magnify Your name, O Lord,
         And where Your truth is heard,
      Awaken hearts to sing Your praise,
         Exalt Your mighty Word.

2.   It's always morning somewhere,
         The night turns into day;
      As dawn breaks o'er the nations,
         For light and life we pray.
      Come magnify Your name, O Lord,
         And use us as You will
      As beacons of Your hope and love,
         As lights set on a hill.

TAG

      As beacons of Your hope and love,
         As lights set on a hill.

THEME: Spread of the Gospel to the Nations

The idea for this song came from a message on Psalm 67 preached by Zane Pratt at Grace Baptist Church, Cape Coral, FL on July 26, 2009. I had just returned from a trip to Indonesia. While working through the challenge of changing time zones, I was reminded again of how God's creation displays the wonder of His grace: there is always light shining on the earth and it's always morning somewhere.
