We sang this hymn today in our morning service at Grace Baptist Church. It’s a reminder of God’s faithful and abiding presence with us at all times, and the free access we have, because of the shed blood of Christ, to come boldly to throne of grace with our prayers and praise.<\/p>\n

Lord, as I begin to wake,
\nJust as I become aware,
\nDraw my waking thoughts to You;
\nStir my heart to praise and prayer.
\nThen as I arise from sleep,
\nStand to face another day,
\nLet Your Word be my delight,
\nGuiding all I do and say.<\/p>\n

Help me, Lord to meditate
\nAnd apply the truth I know;
\nAs I preach to my own soul,
\nGrant that I may heed and grow.
\nAs I walk throughout this day,
\nHelp me cast away all fear;
\nLet me not forget or doubt
\nYour abiding presence near.<\/p>\n

When the day gets busy, Lord,
\nLet my walk not stray from You;
\nFix my heart and mind and will
\nOn Your promises anew.
\nMany times throughout this day
\nBring remembrance of Your Word.
\nGuard my heart from unbelief;
\nKeep my faith in You, O Lord.<\/p>\n

When temptations rise and rage
\nShow me, Lord, the way to flee;
\nLest I fall, teach me to pray:
\nLord, uphold and strengthen me.
\nEver, Lord, You are with me!
\nKeep this truth before my eyes.
\nMay it guard my path from sin,
\nComfort me and make me wise.<\/p>\n

Lord, You are my joy and strength,
\nThrough each hour, in ev’ry place.
\nBe there happiness or grief,
\nYou uphold me by Your grace.
\nAnd when I lie down to sleep,
\nLift my heart again to pray;
\nLet my thoughts to You return
\nIn thanksgiving end the day.<\/p>\n
